They may be a bit grainy, but new pictures from the set of CA: TWS confirm Cap’s new look, along with a new look for Nat. It may feel a bit soon for the Commander Rogers costume to be used, but it looks absolutely fantastic and I love it.

Northrop P-61 Black Widow. A night fighter, and also the first plane built to use radar. It’s turret could be remotely operated by any crew member and could rotate 360 degrees and tilt 90 degrees, allowing the Black Widow’s crew to bring a spectacular amount of firepower to bear against any target.

I really appreciate how they toned down Black Widow’s look for The Avengers.
Because no one’s hair looks like that naturally. That is a ton of product and you are a spy, beating the shit out of people, and your long locks are everywhere.
Additionally the makeup.
Because the Black Widow of Iron Man sort of looked like an ass-kicking prostitute, and while I fully endorse this idea, I think it’s sort of unnecessary.
The Natasha of The Avengers is badass and beautiful without looking like she walked out of a catalog. And I approve of this.
We oversexualize our female superheroes enough, they don’t have to look like 1970s Barbies.

Good news, everyone! Though the Blu-ray/DVD release of Marvel’s The Avengers is less than a month away, the film is returning to theaters so fans can experience Joss Whedon’s brilliant superhero saga on the big screen one more time. The announcement was made on the film’s Facebook page that The Avengers will be back in theaters this Labor Day weekend (ie. this coming weekend). So round up your friends and carve out two hours this weekend to go see Hulk smash on the big screen, if you so please.
